During our Native Plant Week, Brent Martin of the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy will lead a two mile walk exploring the rich flora and fauna of Foxfire, and discuss the 18th century naturalist William Bartram’s travels through the area in May of 1775. Participants will learn basic birding techniques and bird species in the area, with an emphasis on neotropical migrants, as well as plant and tree identification. Bring lunch, water, field journal, and binoculars and hand lens, if available.
