Plant Carnivores & Conservation in a Rare North Georgia Habitat
June 12, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Mountain bogs are extremely rare and special habitats in the Appalachians and home to many interesting plant species–like orchids and pitcher plants! Carrie Radcliffe, Restoration Coordinator at the Atlanta Botanical Center, will share stories of efforts to conserve these unique areas.
Carrie earned her Bachelors degree in Horticulture & Botany and Masters degree focusing on Plant Conservation at the University of Georgia. She works as a field scientist specializing in endangered plants and unusual habitats, coordinating collaborative restoration & planning projects for Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Conservation & Research Department. She works collaboratively with a large network of partners through The Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance, the Southern Appalachian Bog LEarning Network, and the Southeastern Plant Conservation Alliance, plus other regional and national groups. She has also served the local community as Scout leader for 8 years.
