History:
The first of a series of anniversary quilts, this piece was made by the community – including many Foxfire contacts who labeled their squares. Like a friendship quilt, each contributer created one square that they then stitched to all the others, then everyone would participate in the actual quilting. It is also a sampler, as it features many different quilt block patterns including Dresden plate, maple leaf, churn dasher, and Dutch girl, also known as Sunbonnet Sue.
